Mapeewa, a sixth month old orphaned chimpanzee was rescued from a Congolese Govenrment soldier six weeks ago. She is photographed with her full time carer, Foster, in the Provincial capital of Goma, in the Democratic Republic of Congo on the 18th November, 2008.

A woman trys to breast feed her two young twins who are suffering from malnutrition at Matumaini therapeutic feeding center run by Catholic nuns which has seen 96 new arrivals since the fighting in Rutshuru 70kms from the provincial capital of Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on 03 November 2008.

UGANDA - Food Crisis


A baby, who is suffering from malnutrition, is cradled by her grandmother, in the therapeutic feed centre in Kumi General Hospital in Kumi, in the east of Uganda on the 14th October, 2008. The whole region is being badly affected by the current food crisis, as extreme periods of drought have been followed by extensive flooding, which has led to a huge decrease in food production.

UGANDA - ACTION AID

Traveling through Uganda for two weeks with Action Aid, documenting the progress of their "Hunger Free Women" Campaign - these photos were taken on the island of Kalangala, on Lake Victoria, where the ten day road trip to raise awareness about the plight facing women in relation to food security and land issues, started from.
