ZIMBABWE


Zimbabwe's Elderly

Returning to Zimbabwe after too long away I came across these three elderly men at a meeting being held at an old people's home in Mazowe, Zimbabwe on the 22nd April, 2009. Shupikai (C) was born in 1912 and came to Zimbabwe from Malawe as a young boy in search of work. He now lives in a disused railway carriage with no family to look after him.

A woman trys to breast feed her two young twins who are suffering from malnutrition at Matumaini therapeutic feeding centre run by Catholic nuns who saw 96 new arrivals since the fighting in Rutshuru 70kms from the provincial capital of Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on 03 November 2008.
