Terry Bears are beautiful hand knitted teddy bears, lovingly made in Terry Stobb's house in Kenya.
Apart from the pleasure of buying and giving a "Terry Bear" and the recipients happiness in owning one, the Bears main objective is to provide funds to purchase a vitamin and mineral enriched porridge called "Insta". This porridge is currently giving 72 small orphaned children at least one good meal a day. The ultimate aim of this venture, called “The Hope Project”, is to raise sufficient funds to build a small house for the children to live in. They are, currently being fostered by volunteers, and cared for by a few very old and loving Grandmothers. 12 of these children have been brought in from the street and the remaining 60 are little ones whose parents have died of AIDS.
Our other hope is to teach Kenya Mamas to knit the Bears so that they can also earn some money to help educate their children.
