CAPTURED PROGRESS, Southern Sudan

"Captured Progress: Images of Peace, Change and Progress," is a photography project that aims to capture the process of change in Southern Sudan since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in January 2005. It was launched as a joint initiative by the Joint Donor Office in Juba, that is supported by the Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, British, Canadian and Danish Governments, as well as the Ministry of Culture of Southern Sudan.
Six Southern Sudanese photographers participated in the project and attended a series of workshops run by Steve Morrison and myself. The aim of these workshops was to ensure that reliable photography records are being conserved for future generations. This set of images made up the body of an exhibition that was opened on June 29th, 2008 in Juba.
