Quentin Bryce, the newly appointed Governor General of Australia, visited Southern and East Africa on the first ever official visit of an Australian head of State to Africa. The trip took in ten African nations and aimed to highlight the work that Australia does in Africa.
The Governor General visited numerous aid projects in the countries she visited that are supported by AusAid, the Australian Development Department on her eighteen day tour.
